A. What is the Cirque du ACA?

Cirque du ACA will be the single biggest community and fundraising event of the year. The Cirque event is in place of the Diamond Jubilee dinner and auction that was done each of the last two years. It's going to be awesome! There will be entertainment and activities for children and adults of all ages. Performances from the choirs, and jazz band will occur throughout the day. The theatre department will be performing "bad Shakespeare" (so bad, you just might want to throw a tomato!). There will be food, face-painting, games for kids, and a raucous basketball game between the staff and students. You will not want to miss this day. Check out the schedule of events here!

A. What's with the flamingos!?

The ignoble flamingo has become the Cirque du ACA mascot (not by his own choosing). Several flocks of flamingos arrived at ACA to be part of the event. They have volunteered to greet your friends and family early in the morning by camping out in their front lawn over night. If you would like to send a flock of flamingos (large or small) to your friend's front lawn, place your order online, at Cirque du ACA, or call toll free 1-888-600-0488 to set it up. The flock will descend on your chosen friend's lawn in the dark of night to greet them when they go to work.

Here's how it works:

1. Place an order for a flamingo flock to camp out on the lawn of your choosing

2. The flamingos will nest there sometime between Feb. 27 and March 31

⁃ The length of their stay is undetermined

3. The lead flamingo will carry a message around its neck for your friend

Afraid you might be the one to get flamingoed? Buy insurance!! You choose the amount of your insurance. After your insurance is purchased, anyone who chooses to flamingo your lawn will have to pay more! They will be required to pay for the flock AND they will have to match the amount that you paid as your insurance deductible!

Eg. Ron Cook pays $125 for his insurance. Nick Sweeney wants to flamingo Ron Cook. Nick Sweeney must pay $100 for the flock AND $125 to match Ron's insurance - a total of $225 to flamingo Ron Cook. Insurance may be your best bet to deter any would-be flockers! The flamingos will actively nest on the lawns of our community members through the month of March. Did you get flamingoed? Send that flock right back at them! Call Paul Fornier today!

A. How can I help?

We need a lot of help to make this event successful. We are collecting donations for our live and silent auctions. Click here to see a list of suggested donation items. If you would like to be a Cirque du ACA volunteer, call Ron Cook at 909.793.0601 to find a spot to fit into.

A. How do I win a Nissan Cube?

Throughout the event, students will be selling opportunity tickets. Buy those tickets to be part of a drawing for a chance to win a new Nissan Cube! The drawing will be held during halftime of the staff vs. faculty basketball game. The person who is drawn from the opportunity ticket pool will have a chance to sink a shot from half court. Make the shot, win the car! Other prizes include: Barnes and Noble Nook, net book, ipods, and a date with Ron Cook.

A. I heard about a mobile scavenger hunt, what's that about?

It's all about fun! Sign up with a partner to be part of the frenzy! You will given two hours to navigate through a set of clues that will lead you all around the ACA campus searching for answers. The clues will be sent to your cell phone. Players from the winning team will each score an ipod touch! Second and third place prizes will also be awarded. Learn more about it here. Sign up online right now!

A. I have a service or item to donate to the auction, who do I give it to?

Bring your auction donations to the school, or contact Celeste Wilcox at cwilcox6@verizon.net or 909.528.2401.

Q. My student tells me that each class is in a "Chair-ity" auction competition. What's that?

The student leadership has launched a competition between the classes to amp up the auction at Cirque du ACA. Each class has been given a particular type of chair (eg. beach chair, lounge chair, office chair, etc.) to fill with auction items that coincide with the chair type. The class who puts together the chair that sells for the highest bid wins the competition. Help your student's class put together a killer "chair-ity" chair for Cirque du ACA to support our school.
